YWCA Miami’s work and programs are focused around:
- In the area of Racial Justice and Civil Rights, our Youth Development Program works to serve at risk youth in the Overtown area in receiving tutoring and enrichment activities which include self-esteem awareness, conflict resolution, and basic life skills that would enable them to become full functioning adults.
- In the area of Women Empowerment and Security, our Economic Empowerment Program works to help women close the income gap and financial literacy to gain life-long independence, autonomy, and freedom.
- In the area of Women’s Health, our Family Wellness Program works to be a community advocate and leader in the fight against breast and cervical cancer screenings to low-income women, age 40 and older, who are uninsured or underinsured.
We offer several additional programs as well that each cater to the needs of our specific community and also support YWCA’s larger mission to eliminate racism and empower women.
