YWCA Daycare Closure
Kerry-Ann Royes, CEO of the YWCA, has released the following statement:
Last week, the Florida Department of Health confirmed that one of our Carol Glassman Center pre-school students diagnosed with bacterial meningitis had died.The Department of Health yesterday notified us that another child has passed away, but we have no confirmation of the cause of death.
The entire YWCA family is heartbroken by the loss of these precious lives and offer our sincere condolences to their parents, families, and friends. The health, safety, and well-being of our YWCA families and staff are our greatest concern.

9TH ANNUAL WOMEN OF INFLUENCE COCKTAIL RECEPTION TO FEATURE MIAMI HEAT EXECUTIVE KIM STONE AND OTHER LOCAL WOMEN LEADERS
For nearly a decade, a committee of local influential women have organized the Women of Influence Cocktail Reception in support of the YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade. The event’s presenting sponsors are Akerman, PwC, StevenDouglas and A.C. McCowan CPA, along with supporting sponsors Sapoznik Insurance, Mercedes Benz and Jali Creatives, LLC. This premier cocktail event benefits the YWCA’s programs throughout the county. The event brings together hundreds of philanthropic women who have amassed professional and personal affluence throughout South Florida for an evening of networking, cocktails, conversation and a panel discussion around what it means to be a successful woman. This year the reception will be held on August 23, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Treetop Ballroom at Jungle Island, 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami, FL 33132.

YWCA OF GREATER MIAMI-DADE APPOINTS NEW CEO
The YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade announces Kerry-Ann Royes to be the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer effective June 5th. Royes, a 20-year veteran of the social sector, founded Arrow Consulting where she worked with organizations on corporate social citizenship, non-profit strategy, and collaborative community development issues, all with a passion for improving the lives of families and children in South Florida.

YWCA OF GREATER MIAMI-DADE TO OPEN NEW MIAMI GARDENS INTERGENERATIONAL LEARNING CENTER WITH $2.5MM MATCH GRANT FROM COUNTY
The YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade, along with Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez, Miami Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert, and a host of county officials and community leaders, will celebrate the completion of the new YWCA Intergenerational Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony on February 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM.

YWCA Miami announces its intent to participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Child Care Food Program, which is a federal funded program that reimburses child care providers for serving nutritious meals and snacks to enrolled, eligible children.
